About Me

My name is Adriana Castillo. I was born and raised in Mexico City. I was a professor for several years at the Autonomous University of Mexico City (UNAM) teaching Chicano Latino Studies where I also had the privilege of taking upper degree classes in the Master of Latin American Studies. Faith played a role in my journey to Fresno California when I met my husband-to-be at the University of California in Irvine while on a Junior Research Scholarship.

My professional journey in Fresno California focuses on educational experiences in K-12 settings. I have taught Kindergarten, Junior High Spanish and English as a Second Language, Spanish in High School, and English as a Second Language for Adults.

Educator Talk is the product of my educational research and endeavors to document my journey which started as part of the completion of a Masters in Educational Technology which was completed in the winter of 2016  I am hoping to contribute to the discussion of important issues that affect technology integration in the classroom as well as language learning pedagogy. After I finished my degree, this blog reflects topics of interest based on my experience, knowledge, and thoughts of a veteran educator of 30 plus years in Mexico and in the United States.
